To the casual observer, steel worker's make crazy cash..
But think about it for a min, It is a HUGE jump from running a bobcat to operating a Monster Crane that has a Steel girder on it and then placing it exactly where it needs to be, with a half dozen men just feet away. How many lives are lost every year due to accedents in a construction area..
Now I am not going to argue that Teacher's are underpaid but it is a Unfair comparision. As far as Police and Fire depending on what city your working in the pay is not all that bad and A hell of alot better than what are serviceman are making fighting for democracy in a far away land..
Just my Opinion to the mix...

Actually service men and women are volunteering to go over there because the pay is so good...maybe not 73 bucks an hour, but I know husband and wife couples in the service volunteering to go over there because they will each make between 70-80k...tax free!

I'm here in Philly and one of my closest friends commutes everyday by train to the Freedom Towers. Now the cost of living in the burbs here is no where near what it is in Philly or NY for that matter ( in a nice neighborhood ). He lives like a king here. Owns an apartment complex on the side and does basically whatever he wants. That article didn't even mention that these guys get TONS of overtime and double time for Holdiays and Sundays. And Sniper I agree get what you can. While you can get it!
