What you're seeing now is just Disney's Legal Department flexing their muscles. Sort of a "shot across the bow" to anyone who has been playing fast & loose with Marvel's properties. They want you to know you're not dealing ith Marvel's lawyers any more. A lot of companies aren't quite as protective of their characters or coprights as Disney is. Disney is probably the #1 company out there in protecting their profits by going after interlopers. Companies like DC and Marvel may single out the blatant infringements on their properties, but Disney goes after everybody, including the little guys who don't seem to be harming anyone. The lawyers are just reminding those people that it's no longer "business as usual" because of the sale. They haven't even warmed up yet. When they do- watch out - because the slap on the wrist "cease & desist" orders will become injunctions and lawsuits overnight.

I agree with the people who have said that Disney isn't EVIL for doing this - the artists are the ones taking a character that they don't own and making money off of them.
But does this mean it's wrong to support them? Smaller scale artists who amaze you with their talent - I'd still buy a sketch or commission off of them. But I understand Disney's point of view of not wanting to see these artists on ebay (a huge public market place) making money on their characters...

God is not real - can you prove it(and I am not an aethiest, but agnostic)?
It's just people's need to believe in something
