I'm only on chapter 3 and the only thing the guide said that I didn't do (just skimmed through it) was farming for those pre-fight spray items.

You mean the Fortisol and Deceptisol? Those have come in handy a few times...
I'm still on Chapter 3: Lake Bresha "A City No More." I have been building CP for my group and maxed out all of their Crystarium by going around that loop fighting baddies over and over...Kind of nice having them all maxed... makes battles much easier...

yeah those ones. They look handy but I tend to just go head on. Adding something like that doesn't do anything for me since when I should use them I won't even think about it. At least enough of them to worry about how many I have

This game kind of sucks. I just got it last week. You fight one enemy and then have about 25 minutes in cinema scenes, then you fight 2 enemy's and have a 20 minute cinema.. Boring..

I was thinking about buying this back in the day, but with the amount of games I still haven't beaten (let alone played) that I own, I wouldn't be touching it for at least a year. 
.. and now Borderlands and RDR have a rotation goin' in my 360. FF 13 wouldn't stand a chance.

For people like me that wanted an unedited version of the game (original songs and Japanese voice acting). There is a Chinese version that has English subtitles. I'm still going to wait for an "International" version to see how that turns out. But this Chinese version seems to be the one to get. There are even a couple of limited packages with a Lightning controller.

It's so annoying you can't choose your party.
I'm stuck with Lightning and Hope on one team and Sash and Vanille on another team.
Hope is the most boring Final Fantasy character ever.
Also another thing that is annoying Hope and Vanille constantly use magid never there weapons.
Can I get them to use there weapons?

Not at that point in the game.
Their offensive paradime is Ravager, which is magic. They also both have medic, one synergist and the other sabatour. Later in the game you can change up your party and give them the other roles.
