You hit it right on here. Those women and potty mouthed dialogue trying to recreate the same type dialogue by street thugs and killers in Reservoir Dogs was a huge mistake IMO.

You are also right about the spoof trailers. Loved them. Maybe he should actually make one of those movies.

I don't have as low of an opinion of Tarantino as some here. I would say

Good Tarantino

Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
True Romance (Tarantino Screenplay)
From Dusk til Dawn (Tarantino wrote the script for this Rodrigez movie and I liked it overall)

Decent Tarantino

Kill Bill 1 & 2
Jackie Brown
Natural Born Killers (again a Tarantino script, but O Stone changed a lot and kind of crapped it out so Tarantino disowned it)

Lousy Tarantino

Pretty much everything else, including Death Proof

I really liked it, but it could/should have been his masterpiece. Instead, it was just a cool flick.

I thought Resevoir dogs was very good, and I think Pulp Fiction is his best work to-date. Natural Born Killers tried to be something it wasn't, and it doomed the movie's reception. True Romance and Jackie Brown seemed to lack focus on what could have otherwise been great movies, to me.

Seeing both movies in the theater w/ the spoof trailers in the middle was by far the best way to view these movies. I liked Death Proof more than many in this thread seem to.

FTR, Tarrantino is light years better than M Night.

Overlong, overwrought. That was when I realised Tarantino had climbed in his own a$$. Dogs is still his best movie with Pulp Fiction second.
