Was anyone else disappointed by the new images that Sideshow released? The eyes are horrible now, and the base is no longer synthetic grass (not even sure what it's supposed to be now, but it's ugly as sin--I thought it was supposed to represent the cover art?).

I could do with the crappy base, but the eyes may just be the reason I'll cancel from BBTS. Oh yeah, and I'm really not sure why they made Ryu so dark. Just so disappointing overall!

That's aweful, and to think this piece had potential. I'm glad I didn't order it. I'll wait til it pops up on the bay for ALOT less.

They also changed the scythe in the final product.It looks smaller, grey and ugly.

Well, after my initial shock, I thought this through and decided to save myself the CDN$400+ it would have cost to purchase and have Ryu shipped to Canada. And to think this was one of my most anticipated pieces of 2009...

By the way, the old pictures (on which the statue looks so awesome

) are still up on the First4Figures website, so BOOOO to them for misrepresentation. I'd be curious to see the look on the faces of those who bought it straight from their website, when the time comes to unbox the figure... Oops?

Now stay away from 1/4, F4F.

it doesnt look bad but for $400 that cheapo base swap out is a real sucker punch. Looks like a plastic drink coaster. The new photos arent all dramatic with the lighting so its hard to judge if the actual figure is any worse for the wear.
