A HUGE undertaking begins

Damn, I was sure when I saw this thread title it was going to be about how Dura got up this weekend and tried to dress himself, without any help.

Doesn't sound to bad? Well, think of around 15,000 out of order. Nos sure of the total number really but only a small amount is even in order. So I'm going thru each box and picked them apart and putting them in order now.
The worst part is they aren't were I live, they are still stored at my Grandmothers. So I go over today, take her out for a bit and start the first go at it. Got about 4 short boxes done and packed away and that took hours. I'll drop a total number when I'm done.

Any one else do this?
I know your pain. I went home to Newfoundland, Canada last X-mas, when I was there I boxed up my comics. I had 18 short boxes that I wanted to ship to Houston, where I live now. I have gotten about 12 shipped down already and they are just stacked around my games room. So far I have managed to change all the bags and boards on them. I cant put them in order until I get the other 6 boxes. I guess I got about 35 short boxes.

I have about 50 LOOOONNNG boxes & 6 short boxes & another 8 CGC boxes (these are short too).

My collection has always been in order. I do separate companies. The majority being Marvel.

I've been going through my collection & thinning it out (somewhat).

10 short, 22 long. I used to have them in order then I slacked off. Now I have a nightmare to go thru as well. The only one I know for sure is in order and seperate is my Preacher series. I have alot of crap books from the 90's that will be getting whacked. It's just so time consuming seperating them all.

I am thinking of hiring my house keeper and her son to do the filing. It's too painful.

They will never treat your collection as well as you would do it yourself. Plus, it's always fun reliving the stories through the covers when you do the collection maintainance thing.
