Pretty good here in Queens but I hear other parts haven't been so well off. Flickering lights and lots of wind outside but nothing bad for my and my family yet so I think we might pull through without issue.

Well, that's over. It was strangely low key at work and I came home to nothing damaged. My wife said our power flicked on/off a few times but that was it. We are so fortunate, I know others in our area will not be.
Hope the rest of you get home soon and find little or no damage. Stay safe and take your time. Most of all, watch out for downed wires!

Yeah - we lost power for about a minute - that was it. Feel very lucky.

Sup peeps, here's the update. ConEd just restored power in my neighborhood about half hour ago. What a relief. My kids were driving me crazy going cabin fever in the house. It amazes me that today's kids don't know what to do with themselves especially without their electronic gadgets. Their like lost souls without them. lol.

Now that the power is back on, its time for me to deal with the aftermath of Sandy...cleaning up the falling debris in the back of my yard.
Be safe out there peeps.

After reading about all the folks that didn't evacuate, I can't help but think that naming a storm "Sandy" gives the wrong impression. Name the next one "Masterblaster" & see how fast they move.
