It's a terrific sculpt. Maybe his aging has helped give the sculptors more to work with, but I agree it's the best sculpt anyone has done of him.

Take the '89 Batman for instance. The suit is all rubber. If you leave him in a pose with the elbow bent for a long time, it will damage the suit. Best to leave him in a museum pose. But my first ever HTs - the Alien Kane & Dallas both wear rubber suits(although you wouldn't think it looking at them) and they have lasted perfectly all this time

I don't tend to repose figures I have on display, so I'm not sure if there are any plastic aging issues.

I'm getting into Hot Toys because of Spider-man...
Ya think the Homecoming suit would be made with leather (or whatever material it is that easily gets cracked)?
I don't think I'd have a problem with the homemade suit version since it looks like it'll be made of cloth, but I'm a bit concerned about the suit that Stark made for him.
And Spidey in a museum pose would be boring ~_~; Just boring. I'm thinking of playing with it, and displaying it in different poses, maybe change it up a couple of times in a month. I really hope there won't be any plastic going all brittle with this one.

I think that's it. There's definitely more meat for sculptors to sink their teeth on and make us all go "Oooh!". That's probably why young females are harder to pull off, since there are fewer expression lines to lean on.

I don't Spidey's suit is gonna be made of rubber & definitely on Leather!
Just look at the Hawkeye, Captain America, Black Widow, Batman figures. They are all fine (IMO) Deadpool is one of the best figures too
As I said, Cloth costumes pose no problems. We have yet to see what the REAL Spider-MAn figure will be like. Just his home-made costume

But BR Bats is slightly different to '89 Bats. Not as restricted. HT learned from the first.
IMO '89 Bats actually is suited for a museum pose & I don't think of the HT figures as "action" figures. Action figures to me are ones that you play with. Hot toys are ones that are meant for display

I'm pretty excited about the REAL Spidey suit!
Out of topic question, do you think the REAL Spidey suit's release won't be far behind the homemade costume?
I mean, the homemade costume is expected to be released around Q3-Q4 2017... Based on your experience, think the REAL Spidey suit would be out by then too?

Probably expect it to be released beginning of next year.
I mean Stormtrooper Han has gone up for PO & isn't due out for another year.
Hulkbuster still isn't out but that is a very technical & complicated piece. Batman returns took FOREVER to come out! Looks like Pfeiffer Catwoman & Penguin will never see the light of day despite this ad (back in 2012!)
Waiting is part of the game if you get into collecting HTs

I see. That would be favorable to me.
I mean, HTs aren't cheap! Haha! Having enough time between releases of the ones I want would give me time to save for them.

The ED-209 was very early on in HT's career so some leeway can be given there, but they went the same way with the reissue?!
|
Yeah...The re-issue didn't take all that long to fall apart either.
But mostly, HT is pretty durable. Plus the likenesses they get and attention to detail is outstanding. They are not the focus of my collection, but I have 8 of them out right now and have never had an issue with any.
