Well, he swept a good few atrocious Cap relaunches under the rug. But that's just one guy. A cast of X-Men, when Whedon's already bagged several of the best ones, is a tough job.

I think even for the mighty Brubaker this may be too tough a task. I'd scrap the whole X-franchise and start over completely or else just stick with Astonishing and pay the current team millions to keep them on. It's the only way to insure good quality X-titles again.

I think it speaks volumes that there is such a high profile writer taking on one of the biggest name books out there, and so few people are talking about it here. Just four of us, and two of us might not even have read the issue!

I'm with you on the starting afresh idea - Ultimate X-Men is the best X-title I've ever read, and by now I've pretty much read the lot.
