Wow... That was awsome... need to make that my ringtone...
Logan... Wierd Al has to go to every artist and ask permission to use their music and to change their lyrics.. he always gets permission because the music community sees it like a real honor that he would do that to their song...

He doesn't have to. Parody is clearly covered under the Free Use clause of the Copyright Law of 1976. However, Al does choose to ask permission, and won't do a parody if permission isn't given. That's why the "Amish Paradise" song had something of a scandal, because Al thought he'd gotten the go-ahead, and the original artist changed his mind or didn't get the message or some such thing, and he was pi$$ed about it.
I agree that for the most part, the music community at large sees the parodies Al does as a positive thing, though, for sure.

Thanks for the clarification... I knew that he went and talked to all the artists... Do they get compensation for the use of their music?
Also... You're Pitiful describes the geek/nerd culture alot better than White and Nerdy.

No worries. I don't think they get compensation, but they do get more press for the original, and I know that in the past, when the parody gets popular, the original has a resurgence in popularity, too.
I'll have to check out You're Pitiful. I never buy the guy's albums, but I always enjoy hearing and seeing them online when they're released.
