I like owning physical copies, but at the same time, I am looking forward to not having to, we will all have a lot more space in our houses then!

I can tell you where the future is headed. You won't be able to own a movie. There will be a finite amount of times you'll be able to watch something you download, and that will be it. Luckily, you'll still be able to download porno for free, but movies are something else entirely. THEY WANT YOU TO PAY, AND KEEP PAYING.

Thing is, say you watch a film in the cinema, then buy it on DVD and watch it again, how many times do you then watch it again? Could be more cost effective to just rent on demand when you want to watch something, rather than paying up front for the cost of a DVD. Renting on demand, if the price is right, amortises your outlay

If the future does go towards all this downloading, then high street retailers and even online DVD stores will have an apocalyptic future.
