lord odin, I would be more than happy to take what ever refund you will get off your hands. I have two bathrooms, a kitchen and a front yard to re-do this year. After that is the roof, rain gutters and hard wood flooring. I DO take donations!!!

I'm thinking of using the money for home renovations, too. It's either that or savings. There's no way in hell I'm going to go out and blow $1800.
I'm sure it will be a good excuse for a lot of families to get that high-def TV they've been wanting, though...

It's actually not a bad use of the cash. Like coug said, that's the point of the refund--to stimulate the economy through greater spending. And in about six months following the rebate checks (more or less), TV is going to switch over completely to HD, so people are going to need new sets anyhow...
I'm sure you're right about those sales, EW.
