Watchmen is gonna rock. There isn't a film scheduled to be released that I'm looking forward to more than this one.

The fact that KS loved it is irrelevant to me. I think Snyder & Co. know what they're doing. After seeing that trailer I'd be shocked if it didn't deliver. Obviously some of the book's material is going to need to be sacrificed to accommodate a reasonable running time theatrically but I wouldn't be surprised to see an uncut version once the DVD hits. Snyder has already stated if he had it his way the film would be over 3 hrs long.

Now, if Alan Moore said it, I might be more convinced.

I read that the original cut was around 4 hours long. And that they were obviously going to cut down but when the DVD came it was going to be more fleshed out ala Sin City special edition. I didn't think it was going to be 2 hours but close to 3 they said.

Yeah everything I've read has indicated that they are looking at a running time between two and a half to three hours for the theatrical release, with a longer cut to follow on dvd.

Hopefully with The Dark Knight's success as not only a darker film, but also a long one, that will mean that Snyder is given a little leeway in such a long theatrical cut of the film, with minimal interference from the studio.
