It just occurred to me that with the animated full-length Green Lantern movie coming out this summer, perhaps DC wanted this bust to be somewhat featureless, so it would appeal to fans of the movie as well as long-time fans of the character. Maybe it's a "sort of" movie tie-in piece?

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I'm not getting the "featureless" comment. This looks like Hal to me... not sure I'd change anything or notice anything "missing". It looks like a Pacheco GL to me.

I can tell you one thing that's "missing" right off the bat ... shading.

It looks very much like the sketch Pachecho did on the box. Maybe I should take a pic of that when I get home to show that.
Oh well, it has a place in my collection and I really like the piece and they are in great scale with my women of the DCU.

Like or dislike has nothing to do with it, on just simple levels of technique, sculpt, detail, paint application, scale and composition of form (regardless of the subject matter) the Firelord is simply more well done.

That's one thing I've always wondered about. Perhaps it's a philosophical point, but why does a three dimensional sculpture need shading? Shouldn't the shading arise due to the three dimensional nature of the statue/bust/whatever and the light to which it is subjected? That's what happens with real things. That is, if Hal Jordan were real and wearing his GL uniform, it wouldn't have any shading on it. So why should a statue/bust/whatever?
