There's a great brunch place here in Denver called "Bump and Grind", where all the waitresses are drag queens. It's hilarious--they're all so much fun. And their banana pancakes are legendary.
Not the sort of place you bring the kids (though we have, a couple of times--they just have to turn down the raunch-meter on their jokes), but really a great time.

Another one of my friends was a big drag queen in Memphis, but was only in drag when he was doing shows, for the most part. I met a ton of other queens by hanging out with him. I also found out later that my uncle was a drag queen for awhile. Most of them are just guys who have fun dressing up and making a ton of money. I've always found the best way to refer to them though is "B!tch"

I used to love going to the drag shows in Memphis and Little Rock. I haven't been to one in years now. The ones here are AWFUL, and I don't think I've set foot in a gay bar for close to five years.

We have a restaurant/Dinner theater here in Fort Lauderdale call "Lips" where all the waiters and entertainers are drag queens (think "Connie and Carla") which is A LOT of fun ... good food too!

There's one in Chicago, too, but I can't remember the name. It also had great food. What is it with drag queen venues and good eats?

The queens appreciate quality.
