I had one of the decapitated Ambers that I fixed. The big issue with that one is a packaging problem. I looked closely and the foam was sculpted where the pressure point is her head and her shoulders don't even touch the foam.

I'm no fan of the acrylic bases. I agree that they scratch too easily. But I prefer them over Sideshow's poorly painted X bases on the X-Men statues (my Psylocke base is all crackled) is it will save $30 - $40 off the price.

The Sucker Punch line has proved the following:

• Statues can be made with greater detail.

• Digital sculpts are a must for detailed characters.

• Quality paint jobs can be done out of China.

• Sideshow's prices are too high for the details and quality they often lack.

I'm not just a Sideshow basher. Most of my larger scale statues are from Sideshow and I have recently been disappointed with the inconsistency and the lack of quality for the increased prices.

I agree with you on Sideshow's pricing, but start comparing their prices to Bowen. You want to talk about over priced. I think Bowen is the most over priced company in this hobby. They range from $200-$300.

After the disaster that the Bowen Emma Frost was, plus the increasing prices, I gave up on Bowen. I sold 5 of the 10 Bowen statues I had. Might get rid of the rest next year.

I sold all my FS Bowens, except for the Black Cat by Tim Miller. I might have a custom done out of her.

People should also take into consideration the secondary market. Sideshow pieces, most of them, increase in price. Bowens rarely do. Most actually stay the same or decrease.

Few of the older Bowens retain their value, but the more recent pieces tend to because the ES's have shrunk so much compared to the old days.
