Mid 90s for me. Back then the big three statue makers were probably DC Direct, Bowen Designs and Warner Bros. Statues were priced around $100-$200s. A lot has changed since then. Now just the cost of shipping is greater than what I often used to spend for a statue.

Oh count me in for a new Balent Catwoman. I was gonna get the XM, but it's production looks atrocious.

For myself, there is no comparison, as once again Sideshow's work has a vibe/soul, villainous, as it should be. Prime's is a safe cartoon caricature of the character, swamped with tacky excess, to disguise it's lack of finesse, (though I like the Devito inspired portrait).
To simplify the different projected vibes offered by both sculpts, consider this.
-When I look at those bloodied menacing penguins in Sideshow's version, if confronted, my reaction would be to beat them to death with a big stick,.......... quick!
-In comparison, when I see those fluffy, plump, pristine, tacky, childish penguins on Prime's base? Not only do I feel insulted, but have the uncontrollable urge to eat those over priced birds,............ on a stick!
With Sideshow you get a true sense of a villain. With Prime you get a whole lot of fill-in. And that's basically it.

I would buy the P1 over Sideshow all day. Sometimes less is more. It?s a concept that Sideshow has forgotten

Not sure if how many would want an art print with just the Penguin to hang on their wall.
