It was! I love Maryanne and I can't believe she went down that fast. The one thing that got me was Tara telling Sookie to go ahead and go to bed. I would not be able to sleep knowing the house looked like that at all. My favorite line of the episode was "Worship him !%&!%&!%&!%&!%&es!"

forget about how the house looked, the thought of the entire town having nonstop orgies in my bed would keep me out of that place for a long time

TO be honest, this show takes A LOOONG time to pick up.. It gets better by the end of Season 1, and Season 2 is overall better, but even then, it is not a spectacular show considering what HBO has put out in the past, and from what I heard, compared to the novels. The novels are supposed to be MUCH better.

This show has a huge fan following so I would say yeah it pretty much is a spectacular show. Also, from what I read most people are enjoying the way the show goes compared to the books. However, you were right when saying it takes awhile to pick up.

One has nothing to do with the other. 24 is a perfect, brilliant example of a really really bad show that had an immense following.
True blood is entertaining yes, but IMO it is far from spectacular. It does have potential to get very good.
The Wire, is spectacular,
Sopranos is spectacular.
Those are shows that I would throw that word around for

I've never seen either of those and they didn't even appeal to me. I haven't seen 24 either, I only watch the good stuff
