Probably wanting to get the PO's up while the movie is coming out and gambling it could be a hit. I see a lot of companies holding off in the future with the way a lot of the movies have been doing lately.

Hard to say. My guess is they figure they have finite resources so if the ROI on a piece is bad they focus on others. I feel bad for the artists involved as sure making a prototype isn't easy or cheap.

I figured it was so obvious a risk that they must be sure they would produce it to move forward at all especially after they set the low ES.

I'm sure their production team got paid the same.
Most of Prime 1's artists are contracted anyway.

Yeah, but much like video games or films when a project never sees the light of day it can feel like a waste of time.
