I actually had hoped Yankees would not make it again, just to vindicate Joe Torre. I loved that guy, he was the only thing I liked about yankee baseball.

The way the Weather is in NY I wonder if we will even get a game in Tomorrow...I think Game one might be Thursday.. It's raining Today and it's going to rain until Tomorrow.

keeping the thread going, i've read the starters for the yanks will be CC, AJ and pettitte. lee and hamels start games one and three for phils and game 2....PEDRO. i can't wait for the yanks to blast that worthless piece of crap! all he was in new york was a payroll waste. i actually can't believe the phils are starting him in a world series game.

so you think torre was bigger than the yankee legacy? well the yanks are what made torre. we'll see how much of a mark he sets in LA, which up to now hasn't been squat.

Yeah, I like Jeter he reminds me of 1960s - 1970s baseball. I love that era. I also liked Bernie. Good ambassadors.

Well since I am not a Yankee fan, I don't really care to contrast Torre against Yankee lore. I just liked what Joe T did in the dugout and how humble he was in interviews.

I am a Floridian, so baseball was all spring training to me until '93. So I followed whoever trained near me, Astros, Phillies, Red Sox, Pirates, both NY teams and the Reds. When the Marlins came I stuck with them until TB got the Rays.
