I think it would do well. Again, they got to nail the head sculpts though.

Yellowbeast, Congrats on the acquisition! Hope you don't mind me re-orientating it.
Is that a special kind of resin or silicone? It looks a little sweaty like silicone can, but I don't think I've ever seen sculpted hair on that material before.

This JND is dropping at a bad crunch time for me. Not only are nearly all the pre-orders from the last several years suddenly all showing up at once (all with their invoices), but I'm also suddenly getting hammered with home repairs I never saw coming. I've already had to cancel a bunch of Hot Toy figs I was looking forward to, and it'll be tight trying to cover the two JNDs and one Queen piece I still want.
Another $500 for a pre-order deposit now is a stretch that'll be very difficult to reconcile.

To make that leap, it's not enough that it look like Reeve. For me, I want it to look like a younger, leaner Reeve rather than the older, more bulked up Reeve of parts of II, or III and beyond.

Ironically, That younger look I'm talking about can be seen in most (but not all) of the Fortress footage in I & II. However I doubt any one of the artists at JND are that obsessive about the property (like AK would be) to realize there was much of a difference there.

That younger look is mostly hairstyle but there is also some more leanness to the face. The older Reeve is probably the more prevalent look from the reference they were likely culling for this, so I might be able to let this pass by without much regret after all. If it ends up looking anything like those middle two photos, I'm screwed

Translucent resin, perhaps?

^ Yeah, that's what I was thinking it might be.

I've never seen that stuff in person, or even in a photo that showed off the qualities that people who have those pieces say that material has.

You may remember that was the material Sideshow used for their 2011 Legendary Scale Figure Obi-Wan Kenobi prototype before ultimately ditching it in favor of mere polystone.

See, I probably saw that video at the time, but never remembered the Obi-wan because I was always distracted by the Chris Reeve, hovering over another set of fortress crystals, in the background.

If that is what his bust is made of, Yellowbeast's photo is probably the first I've seen that gives me an idea of how good that stuff might look.
It also looks like the artist there was channeling the younger Reeve I was talking about- fuller, wavier hair and a leaner face.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
