I was watching an MSNBC show called 9/11: As it happened, which shows the first two hours of news coverage that day, and they do start to mention reports of a 5th plane.

Here's also a video from CNN about the white plane in Washington;

We had just gotten back from a trip to Australia, another few days and we would have been stuck there for a while.

Funny, I had passed a note up to the pilot on the trip down there to ask if I could sit in for the approach and landing as I was a private pilot myself, showed my license. QANTAS allowed this back then and I was invited up and strapped into the jump seat behind the pilots. Talked with the captain.

Those days are long gone now of course.
Sad. So glad I had the chance at least once.

I was in Mass. at the time, getting ready for work.....

I cried when I saw the second plane crashed...

It was hard to stomach....

I'll never forget.

I watch just about every 9/11 special I can find. I have not seen this MSNBC one, but now I will keep an eye out for it.

Did you realize the original plan was for 10 - 12 planes to be hijacked? they were to strike both east coast and west coast locations, including a nuclear power plant. One plane was then supposed to land in the midwest, and then Al-Qaeda's leader Ayman al-Zawahiri was going to step off the plane, read a statement decalring unending jihad against the west, and then blow himself and the plane u p on live TV?

Bin Laden himself told Zawahiri that that plan was too large, and he needed to scale it back in order to ensure success. That is why only 4 planes were involved.

With the ease that 4 were hijacked, one can only assume that if they wanted 10 that morning, they would have easily had 10.

Scary. I guess we have to be thankful Bin Landen overestimated our security.
