Look out for #1. Don't step in #2 either.

No matter the value of the statues I think you should do characters that you havn't done before. There are a lot of characters in street fighter, and my main ones that I would want to see would be Crimson Viper and Gouken

Those are at the top of the list for new characters...
But it is a business and we have to recognize they wont sell like an Oni Akuma or a 'puffy shirt' Vega.
Those big sellers give us the money to make the less popular characters.

YES! I was just going to say Crimson Viper! I think characters like her bring out the best in the mixed media treatment.

Jerry, for characters with a simple alt. costume like E. Honda, will you release together both classic and SFIV versions using the same sculpt?

With someone like Honda the variant will probably be the SFIV costume.
