Gist of it: Granito took other artists works, modified slightly and passed it off as his own... for a looonnng time. Also made up his own credits (working for DC and with other artists) and became quite infamous in a very short period of time.

Hopefully you get a refund and I'm guessing from how he handled the other interactions that you will shortly.
Yeah - I think his offer to you in the end was actually pretty decent of him...

Oh I agree - Ivy did not come out very well at all... either try.

The worst part is he said he worked on Calvin and Hobbes - that's the first red flag for a lot of people...

That's enough of the story for me, thanks.

Didn't some guy copy a bunch of Frazetta art and get away with it for a long time? (I know this is off the original topic but there doesn't seem to be much disagreement on that topic). I'm pretty sure the guy even put out a book but when you look at his stuff compared with Frazettas work (some of his best and most iconic work even) it was an obvious swipe.

The guy's name was Mike Hoffman. He used to get REALLY mad when people would accuse him of stealing Frazetta's work.

I think Frank Cho said something like "When Frank Frazetta does his taxes he should claim Mike Hoffman as a dependent"

I was looking for some side by sides that I saw at the time but you can search his art in google images or find plenty of discussions on boards about it.

If he was happy with the ivy piece, why didn't he list that one as well?
