I feel similarly with this Batman line...the difference is...I know it is a unique XM / DC take on the Batman and related character designs.

The thing that drives me crazy is some go overboard (we all have at one time or another at some point) on the facetious comments that come across as trolling. The sleestack Batman, and Pogo stick Batgirl, etc. etc. is pointless.

Not everyone is going to like this due to it not being Classic comic Batman and that is fine...but at the very least, look at the Batman line from what XM is doing via DC's challenge and judge it from that perspective. Put aside your wants when looking at this objectively. XM wants feedback.

If SS were in the area of wanting feedback on their MOTU line, I would give it and do so respectively. Do the same for this line and other lines from other companies, whether you have interest in it or not. Helpful feedback is......helpful.

Honest question....knowing the Joker is inspired by the Yakuza, doesn't it make sense for Joker to sport tattoos???

I think when we think of a superhero world where a man dresses up as a Bat and was trained by a League of Assassins...there are Ninjas, Samurais and Yakuza all living in the same world (time period). Just ask Logan.

I think XM is doing a great job here. this Yakuza joker is in unified style with the batman and catwoman.
this is definitely an unique batman line, if some guys want classic, there are tons of choices available as well, don't be so negative with the innovative ones.
My opinion for the joker is, in the batman story, joker is more like an artist than a gang member. it may be more suitable to use Yakuza concept on two face (which would be cool cuz you can make half body tatoos) or even penguin, but joker, may need a second thought.

There's no reason why more than one Bat villain can't also take on a Yakuza theme. A lineup of Yakuza inspired Gotham crime lords would look cool.

It looks great. And the tattoos work, because obviously he's Yakuza inspired, which also makes sense. The Joker is probably the #1 comics character desperately in need of a complete re-do/makeover in terms of his look

Had this been XM's very first line, it may have struggled. But they've become a name now so I think it will fair well. Well enough to sell 1000 anyway. Even though this is a different interpretation, it's a different interpretation of DC's number one villain. If XM can sell B and C Marvel listers, they can sell this.

I'd definitely consider him if he's USD$650 and under.

Given that this license is probably (considerably) cheaper than Marvel license, they may even need less sold pieces than Marvel characters to break even and start getting a profit, I doubt selling will be a problem. Especially considering that XM retails at around 600$ in their own countries.
