Judging by your name am guessing you are asking rhetorical questions, but to state the obvious: I'd say most collectors don't collect customs. But the ones that do, do so because they want a piece that may not get made otherwise, and is a limited run. And also the cost of licenced statues is going up all the time, with huge bases not helping this. Yes it's unethical/ maybe even illegal, but how else will we get a true 1/3 Alex Ross piece, or that character/look that WB will never allow?

Am really liking these additional portraits, even the mullet! I wouldn't use the Ross one probably as this it doesn't fit his body

"maybe even illegal," that tells me you may be out of your depth here. Imagine collecting art and 4 of your neighbors are producing knock offs. Have you tried to sell a statue recently? The market is so bad. Of course the licenses have been dished out but this has to be the only hobby where Illegal products are welcomed. 8 years ago, the hobby was controlled by 2 licenses but now there are so many companies. The very fact that joe schmo can make the same piece as prime 1 speaks to the shallowness of this hobby. It is a shame. And this is why the crash is right around the corner if not here. That Superman came out well! Again, China can make anything so why are we all paying 2k plus for these pieces?

I really hope there is a regular version with no extra arms because this is the best Superman statue i've ever seen. it BLOWS away the Prime Hush Statue.

They are already reproducing LBS Hulk at 3 factories. The only hobby that doesn't care about mass theft.

Looking good. Hopefully there is a less expensive option without the additional arms and head sculpts.
