AP: If The Hobbit, the prequel to The Lord of the Rings, were made into a movie, would you want to play Gandalf again?
McKellen: I would love to do The Hobbit, yes. Partly because I would hate to see anybody else playing Gandalf.

Gandalf, nothing wrong with his Magneto performance, but the look is off. He is the perfect Gandalf, look and performance; the man was born to play the mithrandir.

Nor would I like to see anyone else play Gandalf. As others have said he was born to play that part.
