i just got a PM asking about cleaning dust from a camera's sensor. i'll add it to this thread because i think it's good info.


it's actually not that hard to clean. i've done it myself without any problems. first, i would try using air blasters. the one i use which doesn't cost much ($8) are called Giottos Rocket Air Blaster. do not ever use compressed air. very bad! you could accidentally blow chemicals into your sensor.

if that still doesn't work then you can try a solution and swab kit. something like this..

btw, you won't really notice sensor "particles" in your shots unless they're really big and blotchy or you have an f-stop that's usually higher than 5.0 or above. your mileage will vary.

it takes practice. set it to AV (Aperture Priority) mode. set it to 2.8 or lower. bump up the ISO to 400 or 800 to start with. btw, did you get a tripod?

Am I stupid or am I correct that I can only lower to 3.5 with this lens?
