From what I gathered, the sketch card artists get very little for the actual sketches themselves but make their money in the blank sketch cards that are given to them for their work.
Since they're not paying the sketch artists a lot, you would think they could spend some of that money on NEW art for the base set.

I'm hoping that the art is nice on these cards too! I'm actually thinking about getting a few boxes.

a good friend of mine did between 400-500 cards for this set. five dollars a card. good for the experience and while it seems like a lot of money, it really isn't when you see how much work was put into these...good for the experience i guess, but still. Marvel is getting way more than their money's worth on these.

He should have gone with the $3.00 per card option so he could have gotten back 1 Artist Proof card for every 50 cards he did for the set. He could have gotten back 8-10 artist proofs cards and made a killing.

first of all it's a she, and secondly, she's working on another book project that is taking up the rest of her waking hours. i think the idea of having to wait till the cards came out to EBAY the AP cards was probably a dealbreaker for her.
she's done work on several other card series', so i think the five dollar per card works best for her current situation.
