Decided to pull the trigger.
I've been resisting this piece and this line for so long, but given how this one came out and the fact that I think the price is really reasonable, I just had to do it.

The answer is production batches, most likely. I tend to doubt they have all 3000 pieces ready to ship out from the warehouse in one go.
