That was my thought also.
My understanding was that the tariff applies to goods sourced or ‘manufactured’ in China.
But there have been reports of businesses simply changing the country of origin on the goods and having them shipped from surrounding Asian countries to avoid the tariffs.
It wouldn’t be the first time the country of origin is played around with. Various countries have always had different determinations, from where was it designed, materials sourced, manufactured or simply where it is last assembled and boxed up for distribution.
