Nug and Nearmint any opinions on why the shipping costs from Sideshow directly and P1 direct have greatly increased since October-December 2018. I've noticed a lot of my oversized pieces have nearly tripled since the holidays.

Probably UPS ramping up charges on large packages...

Man, you're having a tuff day!

On mine, both were in stock items & shipped from China. Superman took a week but BB shipped in 2 days after final payment. I believe based on experience so far they ship on Saturdays USA time & if you make your final payment by Wednesday it will ship out pretty quickly.

I really haven't jumped on the preorder train from P1. Haven't seen the need. For all the hype for example, DKR Batman can still be had no problem.

I have to say that's another reason I'm not a big fan of the unnecessarily huge bases. With shipping how it is, it could cost a third of the statue to ship it and the boxes and statues are space hogs lol.

New tariffs are only on Chinese shipments to the US. The US does still have their normal duties on this class of product which they seem to enforce sporadically based off comments in the Prime 1 section.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

And where do you want to move those 100% skill based manual labor?

To US or Japan means you will pay 3x minimum.

To other cheap labor countries, means you will get sht back and start whining even more about quality.

There is a reason you have statue collectible companies all over the world including cheap labor countries, but every single one of those companies make their statues in China.

The only company I know of who didnt, is attakus, which is made in France, costing an arm and leg. Look how that worked out for them....

You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

China is getting pretty developed lately. Soon it won't be much cheaper to have goods manufactured there, especially with shipping and tariffs. I'm sure robots will take over by then. Robots don't need pay, food, or sleep. Imagine waiting 10 weeks instead of 3 years for a statue. Or how about designing your own custom statue, get it approved from Marvel or DC and pay an extra fee. Remove licensing and the middleman. The robot makes it and a drone drops it off. It's glorious.
