Well generally speaking if they were going to "cover" them they'd probably just cast them as a whole, not piece them together and then cover them.

There's a ton of reasons to have them(shipping, breakage, blah blah blah) but we'll see what happens when they come out.

This peg just killed it for me. So on the other side your going to see wolverine connects to hulk by a peg? Oh man I had so many high hopes for this piece but knowing it can only be displayed on one side cause of this peg is a real bummer.

That is just the prototype brought to display at SDCC. I don't think that is how SS will be producing it. I don't think this picture is a reason to not have high hopes.

That's good to hear, so your saying we wont see the peg in the final product?

Yeah, they mentioned that the "paint is barely dry" on the proto. They had to scramble to have it ready, so I doubt there's anything to worry about.

I should say hide them, not cover them up. Gave you the wrong impression there. Anyhow, my point is that gray hulk had a neck seam with no change-o option. And we've seen more delicate, more problematic statue builds than his head ship connected to warrant his head being detached. Likewise, there's nothing appears irregular about the turtles's arms to warrant a seam at the shoulder either. They could have hidden the seams at the elbow pads. Again, we've seen statues built that way traditionally without issue, change-o or not, so i don't see the necessity for these either with regards to damage or packaging. Leo is up for order already, and his shoulder seam is on the preorder pics, too, so we can expect the final product will look that way.

I'm not saying there is a cost benefit, but only that it seems probable given the fact that we're seeing more of this during the same time prices are skyrocketing, and in comparison to similar statues of the past not having this feature...who knows.
