You may be not taking into account that his boots and hair make him even taller than his official height.

In real life those boots and hair would add ~5+ inches to him

Not just looking at the top of his hair (which would be higher if his head were straight up) Take a look at Guile next to Vega or Ryu and you will see that his shoulders are above both their eye levels. Even though he has boots on he also has a wider stance than the Vega or Ryu. Which if it were similar would make him even taller

If you consider all the different reference materials and art styles out there. The characters vary in height depending on the artist. On the cover of SF Alpha 2 Akuma is looking down on Ryu , on a poster for SF EX 2 Sagat looks down on Ryu like he's a giant. If you go off this picture then Sagat better make Ryu look like a little kid!

What people often forget is Ryu is short. He isnt even 6' tall and in the world of super heroes and the like thats pretty short

Jerry, I posted a similar pic around the time of the Ryu / Sagat dio stating that Sagat should have been bigger and you told me that it was an artists exaggeration of the size difference?

So Sagat should actually have been both taller and wider on the dio? Ryu is nearly as big as he is!?

I've always viewed Sagat as a giant... it add's to his appeal me thinks
