I think this looks great so far. From the profile, I already much prefer this to the original.
I think with large quarter scale pieces you need to add some extra details to the design. Green Goblin's classic look would look a bit plain I think. I've already got the most recent Bowen release which is most likely the best Romita style goblin out there. I think Bowen succeeds with staying true to the original artstyle due to the smaller medium.
Quarter scale pieces should have a greater level of detail to add extra punch as a display piece. XM has been doing a great job with this. Most recently, their Wolverine piece has tons of detail to the traditional blue and yellow costume.

I'm definitely with you! I am loving what I am seeing thus far. I have absolutely no problem with artists taking a character and running with it, thus making it their own. I don't need classic designs. I just need a quality, well designed statue that looks really cool. And thus far, this is looking really cool and interesting.

Yea I agree. As long as they stay true to the classic design and the character itself I have no problem with them adding their own flavor to the statue. Let's be honest.. lots of the original classic designs are a bit too simple so adding more character and detail is a great thing IMO.

Looks like Sideshow's stealing a page from XM's detailing playbook (full sculpt, knitting on the hat, goggles, chin strap, knitting on the vest, skin texture). Definitely looks like something XM would come up with. With that said, I think it's pretty cool.
