That's why you need a good 12-gauge pump shotgun. If someone's creeping around your house in the dark, the mere sound of that shell going into the chamber is gonna be a mighty strong deterrent.

This scares the hell out of "journalists" that think oh so highly of themselves by the way.
Believe me, it's hard to think that highly of "citizen reporters" who call up newspapers to complain about issues that have precious little understanding of. It's frightening how many citizens' reading comprehension is not even high school level. You want to entrust these people with reporting the truth? How many average folks have even the least capability to be objective about religion, politics and such? Could you do it, cessna?

I don't believe you have any idea how scary the world is going to be when people with no education who answer to no one are reporting the news. If you think misinformation is rampant now, just wait. Then you'll have a million more things to gripe about.

Remember?
I remember everyone being afraid of being labeled "unpatriotic" if they dared to raise a question about the actual existence of WMD's in Iraq, and whether it was a sane idea to wade into that miasma.

You are correct. The population -- save for a precious few -- was buying all that Bush was selling.

Like Dan Rather? People like that? Like Kieth Obermann?

I mean people like the Baghdad brothers at their blog "Iraq the Model"
I mean people like Michael Yon actually in with the troops.

Real people, living the actual life on the ground
The "ground truth" it is called.
Not some sap with a liberal axe to grind chasing an agenda from a TV studio or newspaper.

Oh? Bush was selling?

This is a very ignorant statement and again, bias by ommission.

Tim Russert: "Do you believe we could have disarmament without regime change?"
SEN. HILLARY CLINTON (D-NY): "I doubt it ... I can support the President. I can support an action against Saddam Hussein because I think it’s in the long-term interest of our national security." (NBC, "Meet the Press," 9/15/02)

If you believe all reporters are grinding liberal axes, you are simply a moron. I'm not normally into name calling, but if you paint an entire industry full of people who come from all walks of life with the same bitter brush, you are as bad as the worst of those you criticize.

Bush wasn't selling it? Was he not leading the charge?

You don't think people were getting shouted down for expressing a dissenting opinion?
