Want to hear something crazy? I scored a goal in a national six-a-side championships in Coventry on Saturday; the Leisure League we play in claims to be the largest in the country, and we represented Bedford by winning our local league. My team did OK, we made it unbeaten out of the group stage (my goal came in our first game, a 1-0 win), but got gunned down in the last 32. Me conceding a penalty in that game spoilt the day a bit, but it was 3-1 so they beat us fair and square. We were missing our keeper, a key defender, had two players drunk or hungover, and had a player injured on the day. For a past-it 30-year old, scoring that goal ranks as one of the greatest moments ever.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

No such luck. Still, without a video to record it, I can allow the passage of time and embellishments of memory to snowball it into the greatest goal ever scored.

But the league name just slays me.

This sounds really cool except for the fact that it sounds just like our "soccer".

Roy Kinnear new temporary coach at Newcastle.
Probably only for 8 games or so, Ashley is hoping to have a sale completed by early - mid October, then Keegan is lined up to come back as permanent manager.
Allegedly.
