It doesn't match his physique from the comics, but this is "real" Gotham City... a guy his size could easily take on a guy three times larger than he is; the muscle mass is there. If you know what you're doing, size isn't an issue unless the big guy "gets lucky"... or cheats.

BATMAN: The Vengence of Bane, was one of the best graphic novels that I have read. It tells the story of how Bane was born in prison to serve his fathers sentence. He didn't just survive in "The Hole", he thrived and developed a perfect muscular shape. This was all BEFORE he was experamented on and given the VENOM.

So, as a fan of the character for the past 20 years, I actually do expect him to be larger than life when he is on the VENOM.

I think therein lies the problem. This obviously isn't the same Bane we've come to know in the comics. His origin is almost certainly different and we don't know what degree or even if the VENOM angle will be incorporated into this narrative.

From what I've heard, he's still born and raised in a prison but the drug he takes is an anesthetic that helps him cope with the pain he sustained from an injury in the past. It does not give him super strength.

I would rather this version of Bane than the ridiculous versions that we have seen in the Animated series' and in the Arkham Games who is fueled by equal parts of Venom and grating Hispanic stereotypes.

Agreed. Not only that but visually I'll take that menacing breathing apparatus (or whatever it is) on Tom Hardy's Bane as opposed to that silly wrestling mask.
