I am building a 80x80x70 pedestal for it. I still have to sand and prime and finally paint it.

I would not have chosen MDF (especially the top panel) bcs this is quite heavy and 18mm MDF prob will bend a little over time. I know the round felt feet under base are close to edge of statue, but still MDF can't support much weight or did you make a frame out of solid wood inside?

I bought an oak table (second hand) and cut it to the size i needed (80x100).

Oh I see.

Mdf isn’t bad if it’s 3/4

You should have just used all 3/4 mdf and just made a box.

But it all depends on what tools you have.

when it comes to woodworking and other collector's custom projects, you don't seem to complimentary.

This looks great, and it's going to be rock solid. nice job zombini. chavez is just a a little snooty when it comes to others building shelves out of wood.

Thanks . I was a little worried that a 19mm mdf is not strong enough to carry the statue. Btw the sides are just 6mm mdf just to cover it.

Yeah it?s fine. Just offering an easier way.

Think about it. Would you rather have just slap four sides of 3/4 together or go through all the trouble of making that 2x2 or 2x3 frame and then have slap four sides of material over that too anyway?

Just saying you could cut down the costs of material and your time.
