Building boxes just use 3/4 mdf or finish plywood and birch for painted and if you like to go fancy use cherry, maple or walnut for a clear finish.

Red Oak is irrelevant these days. But white oak is nice.

All that really matters is you built it yourself and didn’t have to pay someone.

Not as perfect as I?d like but it will do. Just have to hit to the back wall a tad. I?m a little nervous doing that cause this is cherry, not oak or maple, it?s the softer of the hardwoods. It does damage if you hit it with the rubber mallet. So maybe I?ll try hitting it with a small block and the mallet tomorrow.

Now all I got is get cracking on some doors and drawer faces.

Nice work, chavez.

Like mentioned, i just cut an oak table at the lenght i needed to support my statue with dustcover style cabinet.
My custom size 4mm hardened glass has arrived and also the backmirror, but now im a bit stuck how to make the glass walls stand-firm but still easily detachable (otherwise i can't put the 1/3 pred inside or switch any parts). Glueing everything together with UV-glue is just to large and heavy to handle.

Are you making some sort of inlay for the glass to sit on, on the piece of oak. So it doesn?t move?

Yeah if it was me I would pocket screw a wood frame together and route an edge for the glass to sit in, cap it and make a door to have access.

If any of you lived close by I wouldn?t mind helping you do some of this stuff. I could build a cabinet enclosure in half a day.

I can do a full wood or aluminium frame and sliding windows (up/down), but already made up my mind before ordering this glass I don't want wide edges of support blocking my view. I like to see through the front edges (thats why I ordered polished edges at $7 each edge).

But yeah i'm thinking about sort of inlay along the four bottom edges for good stability at the base. And special brackets at the top edges. Still have some thinking to do or ordering new supplies (again lol).
