that summed up my experience here.

good luck to those on this list. i went through long wait, twists and turns, alot of ebay activity, with the ultimate outcome being a refund.

I have been on Jamie's list since June 21, 2010. I just sent him a email. Hope I hear something soon.

I just saw this on ebay:

I am not waiting on anything from Jamie, but I think some folks here still are.

Is it worth contacting him about commission work?

I don't want to sound unsympathetic, seeing as he's apparently gone through quite a few medical problems, but it seems like some people have had to wait years.

I think only you can answer that for yourself. If you are willing to wait the years that some others have I'd go for it. Personally I wouldn't pay up front for an artist that has a back log of commissions yet to be completed.

Years? No.

Isn't him offering his work on ebay, when he (apparently) has a long list of clients who've already paid, a bit sketchy?

I'm jumping into this thread very late, so admit to not knowing all the details.

I emailed him through eBay about the timing and whether he was gonna complete his partially finished commissions before getting to the auctioned pieces. Personally, I would stay far away from the eBay ones, especially with his advertised eye surgery upcoming.

I posted the ebay auction because I thought it was sketchy. It seems like people here have been waiting awhile for commissions he owes them. I happened to see the auction and wanted to make those people he owes aware that he is advertising taking new commissions. I should have been more detailed in my original post, but I was ina rush to post it as I needed to feed Henry (my 6 week old son).
Sorry.LOL

A shame. His work is outstanding, but given the bad experiences people have had - or are still having - I guess I'll have to pass. Hopefully his issues/luck will improve and I can get on one of his lists in the future.

Jamie actually e-mailed everyone with a pending commission and explained the situation. In order to cover some of his upcoming medical expenses he was going to open up a couple commissions on eBay. So it's no like none of us knew this was happening.

I assume it is a quick way to raise some cash without immediately having to produce artwork (he explained the delay in the auctions). I personally hopes he finishes the pending commissions before starting these new ones.

Hopefully the surgery goes smoothly and he's back up and running at 100% in short time.
