Shouldn't the NRDs ensure that all of the company's operational costs are taken care of even if everyone cancelled their orders?
If only those facebook and instagram people would walk their talk and buy stuff.

I know right? There's those damn customers again not fulfilling their end of the deal.
Seriously though that's why looking at Pre-Orders as sales is a poor indicator of a business customer feedback loop.
I doubt it covers if
everyone cancelled.
Too many cancels for too many products from too many of the same customers coupled with enough time to change their mind and not until either after production or the money is gone sounds like a recipe for what we are seeing here.
Long delivery times don't just affect customers patience. A company's cycle of income isn't complete until the return period for the product expires so that's a long time of the business burning through PO cash and coupled with people canceling for refunds at the end along with a lack of demand really sticks PCS in a bad spot.
Mattel never told kids to "stay tuned" for 2 years and then still expect their toys to sell.
That only kinda worked once and that was 40 years ago with $4 toys and that was Star Wars.
