Exactly, you root for the Country you born in and grew up. If you were a player, you would play for Australia, not Italy, doesn't matter where your dad and parents came from.
I'm Brasilian, my wife too, my son Brandon born here in the USA, so he will root for the US, not Brasil. He may have a "sympathy" and take Brasil as a second choice, but his Country is the USA.

Yes, I was born in Caracas, my full name is GIANFRANCO DI FLUMERI PETRELLI, my mother is from ROMA and my father is from FOGGIA. I did learn to speak italian first than spanish, now you can imagine what happened my first day at the kindergarten!!! Maybe that´s enough to cheer for Italia! Don´t you think?

Hey, if I heard right, one of those Italians was born in England! An Englishman in the final! They best not choose him for penalties if it goes that far... Bedford here has a huge Italian population parping their horns - I'm now behind them all the way!

Hey my friend, you root for whatever team you want to, that's not my problem.

But as Yoda would say: "Italian, you are not"

Klinsman knew his team was limited. I'm just amazed they got this far. The Argentinians must be kicking themselves.
