Not to close... 5-6 inches away, swipe several times, never stopping in one spot,
you want the heat to be even all the time.. not just in one spot, use some rubber gloves if you got them
I use them all the time when I handle me girls.. less chances of paint sticking to your fingers or leaving fingerprints on the paint
(N' heat left at one spot can warp the plastic..so building up the heat slowly and working it is best IMO)
most paint should cure for 30days IMO.. before ever touching it.
Plus... your hands/fingers have oil.. that eat paint..also..they are like sandpaper..so handling your statues should be kept to a minim.
