This one is actually a painted Bronze statue owned by a fan (with whom I've had the pleasure of speaking). The sculpt is an SWS original, not a recast, and was sculpted and made by them. The Chinese seller used the photos to promote his fakes, which was not the same product as what you got.

Chicago dinosaur art collector John Lanzendorf also owns one:

This one is a recast, however. The sculpt is noticeably different from the original maquette (same maquette the bronzed one is cast from), especially in the tail which is more wavy than the original. The paint scheme is also rather inaccurate to the original maquettes SWS produced. This one is sold by the same guy that did a JP/// Raptor statuette a while back, which was also a recast of the JP/// Raptor maquette. That one included a more movie-based paint scheme and quills. The original SWS maquette (which, itself was retooled from the TLW Raptor maquette sculpt) did not have quills because of it's origin.

Sorry, Dinos4Ever. Do your homework and research before posting.

I know the artist who actually made the pieces at the good old SWS. I own the bronze pieces(T-Rex and Raptor) and they are NOT painted...

The ONLY painted pieces were the prototypes that were sent to the factory to produce the real bronze ones and used for photos ops for Universal Studio store promotions.

Beside, Paul requested not to keep posting about these recasts. Please read stuff before you post.

Those pics are cool but Paul already requested that we not post pics of unofficial JP products here. I'm sure we all appreciate Chronicle sharing sneak peeks with us and even taking into account our feedback on products, so for the sake of maintaining a good relationship with them I'd suggest we respect their wish.

Also, just on the merit of the argument I see the point that this was a thread created by Chroncile to promote and discuss their product so I do think it's uncalled for to showcase other JP products (so sale or not) on the threads they create. Just my two cents

Well somebody certainly crapped in your cornflakes this morning. I never posted the images, I simply was discussing their content. If you want somebody to be pissy at go yell at triceratops for posting it.
