I think it's just the extreme close-up that makes you notice the discrepancies in the paint. Otherwise, to me it looks like par for the course for a mass-produced item. Not great maybe, but not bad. Probably looks better in person....

Yes its just the close up pic, this is by far and away one of the most original and best series DC has done. There fullsize statues all are awesome, but for price/quality the Bats B&W have been a homerun for me...

Really?...thats to bad....just joking.
I've looked at these many times at my lcs but they just seem cheap and small.
The DC paper weights look as good as these to me.
Anyway I'm glad you guys like them

Gotta agree. The paint on these sucks completely. I went to three LCS to help a friend pick out a Tim Sale BW. We couldn't find one with a decent paint job. There were paint drips, no gloss where there should be gloss, etc. Just horrible. Is this the fact with all/most of them?

I've gotten some DC Direct things before, but it seems the cheaper the price, the cheaper it looks. Bad QC or something.

DCBS sent my Sale last week, but is currently holding onto my Bolland. I guess they're gonna wait and ship it with my Absolute Watchmen hardcover, and the JLU Black Canary maquette, at the end of the month.

I guess.

Hopefully.

I'm surprised anyone actually found any defects in the paint jobs on these. So far mine have been just fine. I picked up my Bolland Batman today. This is going to make a great set.

I haven't opened my Sale one yet but the Rizzo and Bolland pieces are outstanding. Paint job and all.
