I felt the director left the ending up to the audiences interpretation.
I think the director even came out and said it was a possible interpretation

How did it go? Did you vote to cut the harsher ending?

Shauna Macdonald is really good in this movie. I remember first seeing her in the MI-5 (Spooks) TV show. It would be tough for anyone to recover after what happens in the opening and then to find out the cause of it.

The Monster That Challenged The World - 7/10

I'm on a roll with the 50's & 60's Sci-Fi. Picked this one up for a song at fye. I liked it. Dealing with the tried and true perils of the nuclear age, this movie's hero is a 50's in-shape/out-of-shape Navy man who's relocated to a CA inner-coastal waterway and comes up against these slug monster lobster critters. What I love about these oldies is that the special effects teams tried so damn hard. The monster jiggles and plops his way from water to land but the music swells and the teenage, love-making couples scream and all is right with the world. Cigarette smoking guys and tight sweater wearing secretaries fight it out with this giant (8 feet) creature. Corny fun.

Sixth Sense=The only good movie he's done which makes him 1 for 6 in my book and that just doesn't cut it.
I wouldn't waste my time or money on the newest movie given his previous record. I'll rent it for a buck at the redbox.
Wow! We really like his movies. That's how opinions are so different around here.
