The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

This figure looks amazing both with rooted and sculpted hair. The price for the sculpted hair version is comparable with that for Hot Toys figures as well.

Hot Toys finally has a worthy challenger for the very first time.

I'm not collecting this line, but if I were I would definitely get rooted.

If you're going for realism, as I do, rooted hits all those marks.

However I'm also someone who prefers to put things in sealed cabinets to prevent dust, even adding tape and foams to get a tighter seal. Pretty much dust only gets in, is when I open the cabinets door for only seconds sometimes, and still there's no way to really stop that unfortunately.

But if you leave figures out in the open, or even detolfs with those giant gaps, then sculpted may be the way to go.

I went rooted. It adds an extra element of realism when done well. The few custom rooted sculpts I have always look more realistic than sculpted.

Hot Toys seems to have given rooted hair a bad name in the 1/6 space because they use that synthetic garbage.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Thanks, looks like the general consensus is rooted hair, although I have some concerns looking at the gandalf thread, it seems they kind messed up his beard, waiting to see the final inhand photos.

I don?t collect many figures always under the impression they are around $200 each, guess time has changed as folks seem to accept the $400-500 price now for high end 1/6 figures. The ugly groin holder base was always a deal breaker but looks like they addressed it in this series with magnet hold.

I think this series is all or nothing, if going for it need the full fellowship - so that?s x9 looking at around 4-5k total after tax shipping and probably few key addons like Arwen Galadriel and Nazg?l. With the added risk that they don?t screw up any of the 9 figures.

Started this journey decade ago trying to complete the fellowship with sideshow 1/6 statues, got screwed over after they stopped the series without releasing merry pippin, now looking at weta classic 1/6 to complete the fellowship, and we have this now. So difficult to get commitment from those companies to make the full fellowship.

Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Gandalf will be a must for me. I would maybe go for Galadriel, Elrond and Thranduil. I don?t think I would pay the high price tag for an orc or Samwise Gamgee lol.

On a side note, I would also like to see Oakenshield and Tauriel from The Hobbit. Galadriel from The Rings of Power.

I find it kind of funny, that nearly everyone doesn't mention any of the Hobbits in their wishlists.

Honestly, in my opinion, the Hobbits are just the film's "comic relief".....I know Tolkien fans will point to the "hope" and symbology of the characters....I just see little clumsy clown people. No cool armour, not cool weapon load outs.....nah, if they skip the Hobbits, I won't lose sleep.

Do you want the Hobbits in your collection?

If I knew InArt intended on making the whole fellowship then I would most likely buy the hobbits, otherwise Frodo and Sam would be the only ones I'd consider.

Hoping for an uruk-hai berserker, Lurtz, and Saruman (the 3 together would look great). I know a Nazgul is in the works but I would only be tempted if it came with a horse. Gimli is a must with Aragorn and Legolas.

I have Lurtz by Weta and he looks amazing, plus others by them as well. That's why I'm cherry picking these
