All I can tell you is that when Jim goes to shows (like Wizard World or NYCC) he brings with him a stack of pre-done drawings. They range from $100-$150 for one figure inked on 11x14 (as of 2008). I have one of Captain Mar-vel and one of Orion.
So there ya go!

I remember a couple years ago at Heroes Con he was not doing any sketches at all.

Here is some new info I've found out for ECCC:
Chris Samnee
My con sketch prices for ECCC are:
$75 for a single character in B&W on 9 x 12 bristol
$100 for two characters (on 1 page) in B&W on 9 x 12 bristol
Jim Rugg:
9 x 12 size $50 for a bust, $75 for a full figure. It'll be black and white ink (probably with a gray wash)
Nathan Fox:
con sketches they run$75 for full board and $60 for smaller ones (he didn't mention paper size though)

I searched through Terry Dodson's Yahoo Group and found a post where he indicated that convention sketches were running $150 in the last year or two. Not sure if this has changed.
