I certainly can't disagree with you there. I highly doubt we'll ever see another Swamp Thing....period.

prime 1's certainly has more New 52 elements and it even comes with a new 52 portrait. They are both beautiful. Any details on the materials Prime 1 is using on theirs? It seems they could be using a lot of PVC or Vinyl too.

I was all in on this one, now I am not so sure.
Neca has always been, and I think always will be very hit and miss, but they are very affordable.

if materials was such an issue i wish they would have gone with fiberglass then, i expected some of the smaller tendrils to be pvc - that makes sense. anything ive ever seen made of vinyl does not scream "high end"
You're not wrong, PVC is readily available for a reason. It's also one of the most toxic material to produce too (that's just my haz waste management job speaking).

I think the costs speak volumes. Prime 1 and XM seem to keep on cranking out their pieces with the polystone and resins, and for that I have no problem paying the prices. But I do give credit for SS being upfront - we asked for that and I appreciate it.

I wish SS would chime in as to why they chose vinyl. Other than potential cost savings, is there something about this piece that makes vinyl more appropriate than other materials?

Sorry to those who wanted this piece. That’s a disappointment.

Yeah, that was my point. Both those releases were less than $100 for quarter scale. Tonto could proudly display with much more expensive pieces, Lone Ranger...just a toy. The fact they can OCCASIONALLY pull off a higher end looking piece using cheap materials and CHARGING much, much less, is a total WIN for NECA, and those who collect them. The 1/4 Penguin they did is really good too, except a stand doesnt work with him, so while he looks just fine with Keaton/Pfeiffer, darn tricky to display. But, again, Less than $100.

SS is out of their minds going this direction.
